Detailed Job Description
Manages the daily operations of the Academic District Resource Team, comprised of Renovation and Restoration staff. This role is responsible for leadership, guidance, support, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching shop staff. This position meets university customers and reviews work orders to identify scope of work, develops estimates, schedules staff assignments, coordinates trades and monitors job progress. This managerial position is responsible for 11 direct reports, purchasing materials, shop tools and supplies and budget tracking and oversight. May provide support for small renovation projects or special assignments and assist in both short- and long-term planning for assigned groups and functions.
Positions work primarily Monday-Friday from 5:45am-2:45pm subject to changes in shift, hours, days, and/or location as operations dictate; may require on-call holiday rotation; subject to 24-hour emergency call.
In accordance with the Disaster Preparedness and University State of Emergency Policy 6.17, this position has been designated as an essential position.
Required Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 3 years of relevant experience
- Valid Ohio Driver's License
Desired Experience
- 4-8 years relevant experience specific to finishing trades
- 3 years of team leadership and maintenance management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization

- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams

- Proven history of safe operation of equipment and vehicles
- Strong understanding of personal protective equipment (PPE), safety supplies, policies, and procedures
- Working proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard computer software
- Comfortable using iPads and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) work management software
- Experience with project management software and technology tools to improve resource visibility, optimize scheduling, and enhance communication throughout all project phases
- Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds safely
The target hiring range for this job profile is $36.39-$43.10 per hour. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
