The Opportunity

At UniSC, data and information are strategic assets that power insight, accountability and impact. The Insights and Analytics Unit (IAU) leads the University’s enterprise approach to data governance, legislative reporting and institutional analytics. From performance reporting and forecasting to student surveys, privacy and compliance, the IAU enables evidence-informed decision-making across academic and corporate functions.

As Manager, Compliance and Evaluations, you will provide enterprise-level leadership of UniSC’s most significant legislative reporting and national survey obligations. You will oversee compliance with the Tertiary Collection of Student Information (TCSI), Admissions Transparency reporting and the University’s participation in Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching (QILT) surveys, ensuring accuracy, integrity and risk assurance. Working closely with senior leaders and the Associate Director, Insights and Analysis, you will guide a specialist team, steward governance frameworks and provide authoritative advice that safeguards UniSC’s statutory compliance and reputation.

For more information, please visit us online: Insights and Analytics Unit

You will

  • lead strategic oversight of TCSI, Admissions Transparency and QILT reporting, ensuring legislative compliance, data integrity and robust governance;
  • provide authoritative advice to senior stakeholders on regulatory interpretation, emerging risks and institutional performance implications;
  • drive continuous improvement in data quality, assurance processes and cross-University accountability for compliance reporting; and
  • lead and develop a high-performing specialist team, fostering innovation, collaboration and a culture of excellence.

About you

You are a thoughtful and decisive leader who thrives in complex, high-accountability environments. Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels, you bring clarity to legislative requirements and translate them into practical, well-governed processes that stand up to scrutiny. You are confident advising senior stakeholders, navigating regulatory reform and balancing competing priorities in time-critical contexts. Above all, you value integrity, precision and purpose, recognising that strong compliance and evaluation practices protect UniSC’s reputation, strengthen institutional performance and ensure we meet our obligations with confidence.

You will possess:

  • a relevant degree and extensive experience in data analytics, legislative reporting and compliance within complex organisations;
  • demonstrated success leading specialist teams and delivering high-quality, organisation-wide outcomes;
  • advanced expertise in data quality management, assurance activities and risk mitigation;
  • substantial experience interpreting and applying legislation and policy, with the ability to assess business impacts and advise senior leaders;
  • highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to synthesise complex technical and regulatory issues; and
  • strong organisational judgement, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to fixed statutory deadlines.
