As Policy and Secretariat Officer, you will play a central role in enabling strong governance and effective decision‑making.

Working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders across the University, you will coordinate key governance activities, support policy development, and contribute to high‑quality documentation that underpins assurance and compliance.

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate the end‑to‑end planning and delivery of committee business, including agendas, papers, minutes, actions, and follow‑up, to support timely and effective decision‑making.
  • Support Academic Division’s policy review and approval cycle, providing guidance to policy owners and ensuring alignment with legislative, regulatory, and internal requirements.
  • Prepare and contribute to reports, briefing papers, and submissions for internal and external stakeholders, exercising sound judgement and critical thinking.
  • Build productive working relationships across a complex organisation, facilitating collaboration between committees, senior leaders, and professional and academic staff.

This continuing position is full time and will be located at the Callaghan Campus (Awabakal land).

  • Relevant experience in governance, administration, policy, or organisational coordination, with the ability to exercise sound judgement in managing information and documentation.
  • Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship‑building skills, including the ability to work effectively with senior executives.
  • Strong organisational capabilities, with proven ability to produce accurate, high-quality documentation to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
