St. Catherine University invites applications for a full-time Manager of Academic Technology & Digital Learning position. This is an in-person, on-campus (St. Paul, MN) position.

Major Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the daily operations of academic technology services and the digital learning environment, ensuring reliable and accessible tools that support teaching and learning.
  • Designing, managing, and evaluating high-quality continuing education and workforce-aligned learning experiences, grounded in adult learning principles and responsive to employer and community needs.
  • Guiding faculty and staff through the design and delivery of inclusive, rigorous online and hybrid courses, providing instructional design expertise, instructional support, and digital learning best practices.
  • Leading special academic technology projects from concept to implementation, including pilot testing emerging tools, coordinating cross-unit collaborations, managing timelines and vendor relationships, and ensuring successful adoption and measurable impact.

1. Academic Technology Management

  • Manage the academic technology requests, vendor contracts, and academic software licensing and renewals.
  • Serve as a key link between academic programs and Collegis, St. Kate's IT partner, to ensure classroom and lab technology meet instructional needs.
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of academic software, including its integration into Canvas.
  • Research and pilot emerging tools, such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality, and mobile learning devices, to foster a modern learning environment.
  • Ensure all digital materials and tools comply with accessibility standards (e.g., ADA, Section 504) and ethical guidelines for data privacy and AI use.
  • Lead professional development for faculty on the effective use of technology, including online, hybrid, and face-to-face instruction in collaboration with the Teaching Hub.

2. Continuing Education & Workforce Program Management

  • Develop, launch, and refine continuing education and workforce development programs aligned with employer needs, industry trends, and university priorities.
  • Conduct market scans, needs assessments, and competitive analyses to identify new program opportunities and credential pathways.
  • Provide academic coaching to adult and professional learners, supporting goal-setting, persistence, and successful program completion.
  • Oversee program logistics, scheduling, instructor assignments, and resource coordination.

3. Instructional Design & Digital Learning

  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine internal quality assurance systems for online and hybrid offerings, ensuring alignment with institutional standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with faculty and external subject matter experts to conceptualize and build innovative, evidence-based online and hybrid courses.
  • Lead faculty and staff through the design, development, and delivery of online and hybrid courses that emphasize academic rigor, accessibility, and learner engagement.
  • Design and integrate generative AI-enhanced learning activities, assessments, and course assets that align with ethical, human-centered instructional practices.
  • Provide individualized and group consultations to help faculty adopt emerging digital learning tools, including AI, AR, and VR, in ways that promote equity, transparency, and academic integrity.

Minimum Qualifications:

Three years of work experience in an educational setting with a focus on academic technology and digital learning environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • Five years of work experience in academic technology and digital learning in higher education

Compensation: Annual wage is $62,192 - $87,048 depending on qualifications and experience.

The salary range listed reflects a good-faith estimate of what we reasonably anticipate to pay for this position, based on market data and internal equity, at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors. St. Catherine reserves the right to modify or adjust compensation depending on University needs.
