Marie Skodowska-Curie Global Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA)

The Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies at the University of Notre Dame invites expressions of interest from early-career researchers who wish to apply for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA). Located within the Keough School of Global Affairs, our Institute is committed to fostering interdisciplinary, globally engaged scholarship at the intersection of Irish Studies, history, politics, literature, religion, and peacebuilding.

The MSCA global fellowship (open to European nationals or long-term residents of EU member states or Associated Countries) funds a 12-24-month period with a global host and a 12-month return period in the EU/AC. The Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies welcomes expressions of interest as the global host and has strong partnerships with a range of universities across Europe-including, but not limited to, the University of Galway-which can serve as the potential European host institution for MSCA Global Fellowship applications.

We welcome proposals that align with our core research strengths, including but not limited to:

  • Irish history, literature, language, and cultural studies
  • Colonial and postcolonial studies
  • Religion, secularism, and global Catholicism
  • Comparative peace processes and memory studies
  • Transatlantic and European political and intellectual exchange

The Keough-Naughton Institute collaborates closely with leading centers across campus, including the Nanovic Institute for European Studies, the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, and the Kellogg Institute for International Studies. Fellows will benefit from vibrant intellectual communities, access to extensive archival resources (such as those in the Hesburgh Libraries), and integration into an expanding network of global researchers.

We offer a collegial environment with robust support for early-career scholars, including individualized mentoring, professional development opportunities, and active involvement in the Institute's rich programming.

If you are interested in pursuing the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Postdoctoral Fellowship with the Keough-Naughton Institute as your third country host, we encourage you to reach out with a brief expression of interest and CV. Please contact:
