Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Mata Ahupea - Administrator to join Orauariki - Wellington School of Business and Government at Pipitea Campus, on a fixed-term/secondment full-time basis until the end of December 2026. The role is located within the School of Economics and Finance and the School of Accounting and Commercial Law. This role is a key position within the administration structure for both Schools.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an individual with outstanding organisational skills, strong problem-solving capabilities, and a flair for creative thinking. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in enhancing the administrative functions of both schools while actively supporting the academic team.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality administrative support for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, ensuring accurate, timely, and professional service that enhances the experience of students, academic staff, and stakeholders.
- Support the School Manager in the effective coordination of school-wide operations, contributing to the smooth delivery of teaching and learning through assistance with course coordination, event organisation, communications, and website maintenance.
- Act as a key liaison between students, faculty, and central service units, delivering proactive, student-centred support that aligns with institutional policies and promotes academic success.
- Assist the Head of Schools, Faculty Committees, and School Manager with a broad range of administrative tasks, helping to ensure well-organised meetings, efficient workflows, and successful execution of school priorities.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment by providing flexible support across teams, adapting to changing priorities, and stepping in where needed to meet operational demands.
