Mathematics Instructor (Part-Time Faculty Pool)

Ohlone College is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for temporary part-time teaching assignments in Mathematics. Assignments may include day, evening, and weekend courses and may be in-person, online, or hybrid.

Position Description

Part-time faculty positions are for teaching assignments as needed. Applications remain in the pool for two years and are reviewed when positions arise.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach Mathematics according to established course outlines.
• Evaluate student work with clear criteria and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain accurate records such as grades, syllabi, and attendance reports.
• Create an equity-based and welcoming classroom environment.
• Perform duties as outlined in Board policy, faculty contract, and Faculty Handbook at designated locations.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's in mathematics or applied mathematics; or Bachelor's in the above and Master's in statistics, physics, or mathematics education; or equivalent. Commitment to equity, anti-racism, and serving diverse students, including those with disabilities. Evidence of understanding diverse student backgrounds and the need for equity-minded practices.
