We are looking for a curious employee with an MBO-level education in furniture technology, fine woodworking, or similar experience. You understand the challenges of supervising relatively inexperienced people and can handle the varying circumstances specific to working in our faculty.

The Houtwerkplaats and CAMlab are located on either side of the Maquettehal in the Faculty of Architecture. Together, they form Maquettetechniek, which supports students and staff in creating maquettes and other three-dimensional models for education and research. The Houtwerkplaats provides hands-on support with tools, advice, and woodworking machines, while the CAMlab assists with lasers, 3D printers, and CNC machines.

Functie-eisen

In a team, you will:

• Supervise the workshop and workspaces in the hall.
• Staff the lending desk and support students.
• Operate, manage, and maintain hand tools and machines.
• Sell materials and manage stocks.
• Provide clear instructions and advice to students and colleagues.
• Ensure safe and responsible use of machines.

You have good communication skills, including in English, as international students and colleagues will seek your help. Under pressure, you maintain overview, set priorities, and determine boundaries with the team. You enjoy helping students and colleagues find solutions and are eager to learn. Some knowledge of maquette materials is useful, but curiosity is key.

During quieter periods, you handle maintenance, long-term projects, and daily tasks like stock management. Experience with woodworking machines is preferred, but we can train you. An open mindset and collegial attitude are essential. An EHBO diploma (first aid) is required or you must be willing to obtain one.

Arbeidsvoorwaarden
