Position Purpose
Provide mental health triage, consultation, counseling, assessment, referral, and brief, solution-focused therapy for a diverse population of students. Provide support and direction for a variety of Student Wellness Services initiatives related to holistic development and well-being, including self-care and self-management of conditions commonly affecting college students, such as stress, anxiety, and depression. Facilitate groups and workshops directed to help students elevate and maintain a practice of well-being, including use of techniques, such as mindfulness and Eco Therapy, how to avoid negative consequences associated with alcohol and other drug use, or other dysfunctional/destructive coping mechanisms. The incumbent participates in the selection, training, and supervision of student counseling interns.
There are two vacant Mental Health Clinician positions available. These are overtime eligible positions in Student Wellness Services on the Olympia campus of The Evergreen State College. These are cyclic positions scheduled to work full-time September through June and half-time July and August each year. These positions are exempt from Washington State Civil Service rules.
Salary and Benefits
$5,826 – $6,311 per month of full-time work + excellent benefits including paid sick and vacation leave; paid campus holidays; a generous medical, dental, life, and disability insurance package; and a tuition waiver program.
