Mental Health Counselor
Primary Purpose
Stetson University College of Law is seeking a full-time (12-month) Mental Health Counselor, who is a licensed Florida professional (LMHC, LMFT, or LCSW) to join our dynamic, diverse, and creative team. This individual will provide mental health counseling on-site to graduate law students at Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida. Mental Health Counselor will be part of a two-clinician team on the Gulfport campus and connected to a larger team of four full time clinicians plus interns-in-training on the DeLand campus. This group provides an extensive network for clinical consultation and support. The Mental Health Counselor will report directly to the Director of Student Counseling Services in DeLand with a dotted line to the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs in Gulfport.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group clinical and counseling services and/or psychotherapy, assessment, crisis intervention, and on-call services to a diverse population of Stetson students.
- Coordinate training for support staff at the College of Law
- Provide consultation services to student groups, faculty, and staff within the university.
- Use electronic programs (such as internet services, Titanium Schedule, CCAPS Assessments, and Microsoft Outlook) and other tools to enhance the efficacy of Student Counseling Services' work.
- Collaborate with other departments within the division and university in supporting student mental health services.
- Support and implement University and departmental policies and procedures.
- Serve on the College of Law's Student Support and Emergency Team.
- Perform other assigned functions that contribute to the counseling service offerings and the institution's academic mission.
- Subject to on-call status as needed or on-call status/recall in the event of emergencies or natural disasters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
