Mental Health Counselor
Job Summary:
Xavier University of Louisiana is accepting applications for a Mental Health Counselor. The Mental Health Counselor conducts intakes and provides short-term counseling for a diverse student population with evidence-based techniques and interventions for individual, couples, group counseling and crisis intervention. The mental health counselor will also assist with mental health programming with workshops/ presentations, and consult in accordance with ethical guidelines with students, faculty, staff, and families. AA/EOE
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work (required)
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), [preferred], Licensed Master Social Worker, (Currently licensed in Louisiana to provide counseling services)
- 1-3 years or prior experience in collegiate and/or clinical setting.
- Experience with utilizing evidence-based techniques and interventions for a historically underserved population with culturally competent care
- Experience providing telehealth health counseling services and utilizing a EHR system.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work (required)
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) (preferred) (Currently licensed in Louisiana to provide counseling services)
- 1-3 years or prior experience in collegiate and/or clinical setting.
- Experience with utilizing evidence-based techniques and interventions for a historically underserved population with culturally competent care.
- Prior experience working with adolescents and or adults
