Modelling the energy and indoor environment performance of the housing stock (Ref: ABCE-EBE-DA)
About the Project
The health, wellbeing and productivity of our society necessitates low energy homes that provide year-round thermal comfort and good indoor environmental quality. New numerical models are needed that can predict not just the energy performance of our homes, but the indoor environmental quality as well. The models will need to consider insulation, ventilation, indoor air temperatures, and relative humidity. We have good links with the housing industry and access to a range of data sets. We're looking for a passionate and numerate person to join our research group and carry out the research needed to develop these new models.
The School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering aims to be the world’s leading integrated centre for built environment research. In the most recent UK Research Excellence Framework, the School was ranked first for our research environment, with 95% of our research rated “world-leading” or “internationally excellent” for its influence on society, the economy, and policy.
