Motor Vehicle Operator

Required Qualifications: As per Civil Service standards and specifications. Must be able to move heavy objects. Must have, keep and maintain the appropriate valid Class B NYS Commercial Driver's License (CDL). In addition, must participate in the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act (drug and alcohol testing) as required; have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations. Brief Description of Duties: The Motor Vehicle Operator will prepare supply requests and drive motor vehicles in order to transport scheduled deliveries.

• Perform deliveries and pickups of various materials throughout the campus.
• Schedule and execute deliveries of prepared supply orders.
• Prepare supply requests by pulling inventory according to work order.
• Service window customers in a timely, accurate and professional manner by providing requested inventory utilizing bar code scanners and computerized inventory program.
• Load, unload and physically handle equipment, furniture, supplies, etc, by operating pallet jacks, forklifts, motor vehicles in a safe manner.
• Perform routine daily cycle counts of inventory and assist with annual physical inventory count.
• Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.

Special Notes: This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Mandatory rehire roster candidates have preference. SG 7 Hiring Rate $38,235. This position includes location pay of $4,000 per year.
