MUAP Private Lesson Instructor - Clarinet

Position Summary
The Music Department is recruiting for a MUAP private lesson instructor to teach clarinet beginning January 20, 2026.
Salary Based on Instructional Units(one instructional unit is equivalent to 16 contact hours per semester).
$655.67/per instructional unit in the Fall/Spring/Summer
$300.00/seminar course
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide instruction to students in a meaningful classroom and/or laboratory learning environment
- Teach each student a 60 minute lesson once per week
- Be present for labs 4 times each semester (2 seminar, recitals, and juries)
Qualifications
- A Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in music or a Bachelor's degree in Music or Music Education. Must have at least 14 undergraduate hours of private lessons in one of the following instruments: flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, or saxophone AND 6 semesters playing experience in a college ensemble (orchestra, band, jazz, or minor ensemble such as woodwind ensemble) PLUS at least 2 years professional playing experience in an auditioned group. Unofficial transcripts are required for all graduate level work
- Local instructors preferred. However, will consider applicants who can teach via WebEx (real time remote).
- A demonstrated commitment to serving a diverse array of students, to the community college mission, and to academic excellence.
- College teaching experience preferred.
