NOCCCD is now accepting applications for Music/Choral Studies Instructor Pool-Part-Time at Fullerton College!
Choral classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. in the Fall.
Primary Purpose
Duties and responsibilities as presented are intended to be representative and not restrictive. The District reserves the right to modify the assignment and allocation of duties in accordance with operational needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s in music
OR
Bachelor’s in music
AND
Master’s in humanities
OR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area;
OR the equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

Desirable Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience within the area of choral ensembles, especially introductory collegiate or introductory adult ensembles.
- Proficient knowledge of vocal pedagogy and healthy, safe singing technique.
- A pedagogical approach built on rehearsal techniques that emphasize music literacy, musicianship, and music theory knowledge.
- Experience with selecting repertoire that is both developmentally and ensemble-level appropriate.
- Demonstrated experience with teaching practices supporting success, recruitment, and retention of students of color, students with disabilities, and other historically underrepresented students.
Salary Range: $1572.67 - $1725.85 per lecture unit rate, $1572.67 - $1725.85 per lab parity unit rate, $1258.16 - $1380.60 per lab unit rate

Special Instructions Summary
This recruitment will remain active until the position closing date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified. This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time faculty.
