Configure, maintain, and monitor enterprise firewalls, including rule creation and review, intrusion prevention, logging, and change management, to ensure secure, reliable network access while supporting instructional, administrative, and compliance requirements.

Configure and maintain VPN connections (L2TP, IPSec, SSL, site-to-site, client access).

Configure and maintain Layer 2 switches and maintain complex VLAN structures for segmenting administrative, instructional, and guest traffic.

Deploy and maintain campus-wide Wi-Fi environments and manage the eduroam authenticated roaming platform for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Utilize network management utilities to proactively monitor latency, throughput, and hardware health.

Adheres to cybersecurity best practices and proactively implements security controls to protect systems, networks, and data.

Acts in a Tier 2 and 3 Helpdesk support role as needed, and as a backup to the Tier 1 Helpdesk roles.

Responds to and presents information to inquiries and/or complaints from all levels within and outside the organization.

Leads technical discussions and solution design.

Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience :

• Requires an A.S. and/or 2 to 4 years of related experience, preferably in an educational environment
• Preferred Certifications – Network+, Security+, Firewall certification from an industry leader (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point). CCNA is highly desirable
