Network and Infrastructure Engineer
Job Summary
The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) is seeking a Network and Infrastructure Engineer responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of school-level network and related IT infrastructure in support of teaching, research, and administrative activities. This role provides critical oversight and technical expertise for campuswide networked AV infrastructure and design of faculty lab networks.
Job-Specific Responsibilities
- Participate fully in the build, configuration and documentation of IT infrastructure. Provide specialized stewardship on campus AV networking and faculty lab network architecture.
- Maintain and support IT infrastructure, ensuring adherence to standards and service level objectives.
- Analyze and report on performance metrics.
- Oversee SEAS use of infrastructure monitoring and management platforms.
- Implement and support robust and secure IT solutions.
- Maintain awareness of emerging threats and trends within Information Security.
- Operates with a security mindset and partners with the School Information Security Officer to evaluate and mitigate risks.
- Review or perform procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information.
- Act as a trusted advisor to members of the SEAS community.
- Draw on relationship and technical skills to consult with internal and external stakeholders.
- Abide by and follow the Harvard University IT technical standards, policies and Code of Conduct.
