NJ GAINS Workforce Student Support Administrator--Part-time Grants Funded
Job Summary
The NJ GAINS Workforce Student Support Administrator is a part-time, grant-funded position that provides administrative and student support services for workforce development apprenticeship initiatives. Reporting to the Apprenticeship Coordinator, this role assists in supporting student participants throughout the apprenticeship lifecycle. The position focuses on onboarding assistance, documentation collection, data entry, tracking participation, coordinating support referrals, and maintaining compliance with grant, institutional, and state reporting requirements, including required workforce tracking systems such as RAPIDS. This is a detail-oriented, administrative support role with regular student interaction and structured oversight.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required. Completion of commercial courses related to secretarial, general office and administrative skills, or demonstrated equivalency through work experience. Associate Degree preferred.
- 1–3 years of administrative work experience, preferably in higher education, workforce development, or student services.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with data entry and database management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently within structured guidelines.
- Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
