"Non-Credit Instructor-Kitchen Assistant"

The Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning (WDLL) Department of Middlesex College invites applications for a part-time, non-credit Kitchen Assistant to support the following culinary instruction program:

• Kitchen Assistant

Important:

Please note that a non-credit Kitchen Assistant is not an adjunct position. Successful candidates teach courses in the WDLL Department.

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Preps all ingredients as per the recipes. This may include, cleaning all produce, knife skills, weighing, portioning, precook, and cleaning.
2. Secures equipment for instructor and participants.
3. Sets tables for guest as needed. Sets up and greets guest.
4. Cleans and stores equipment.
5. Secures the kitchen at the end of class.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three years of experience as a chef
• ServSafe® certification
• Excellent knife skills
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment
• Organizational Skills
• Great Interpersonal Skills
