Non-Teaching Tenure Track Instructor in Athletics / Assistant Athletic Director of Events and Operations

The Department of Athletics welcomes applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Athletic Director of Events and Operations beginning August 2026. The position is a 10-month appointment that is responsible for assisting the Director of Athletics and department of athletics with the daily operation of the athletic department and coordinating various administrative functions within the department focused on game day operations, facilities management, staffing of game staff and hiring and supervising student workers. The primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, games management, facility oversight, scheduling and completion of administrative duties as assigned by Director of Athletics.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely and collaboratively with coaches, staff, athletics trainers, and student athletes to provide a quality student athlete experience and meet needs of various constituents.
- Communicate and collaborate with coaches and faculty athletic trainers to schedule games and practices for athletic programs.
- Create, update and oversee master schedule for athletics facilities including Pucillo Gymnasium, Pucillo Soccer fields, Seaber Softball complex, Cooper Park and Biemsderfer Stadium.
- Input all schedules into the Athletics scheduling software and University software systems.
- Collaborate with Ticket Operations to schedule for football, basketball and baseball games.
- Work in collaboration with Sr. Associate Director of Athletics to schedule external camps and clinics in conjunction with department schedules.
- Collaborate with Director of Club and Intramural Sports, Conference and Event services to communicate and schedule athletic facilities for club and external groups.
- Conduct regular walk throughs of athletics facilities to ensure cleanliness, proper maintenance of the facilities, proper storage of equipment, transition between groups.
- Submit department work orders for facility repairs.
- Develop and implementing a process for growing student worker staff to full staff events.
- Serve as athletics liaison to facilities, conference and event services, club and intramural sports, University police and University dining.
- Secure University police and security services for home games.
- Coordinate, oversee and designate on site services for intercollegiate athletics events. Includes set up and break down of event, game day site supervisor schedule, and secure fields upon completion of event.
- Oversee Athletics Operations GA
- Secure game day personnel from officials, scoreboard operators, student workers.
- Support the Director of Athletics with daily operations of the athletics department.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree + 15 credits.
- One year experience in intercollegiate athletics.
- Working understanding of intercollegiate athletics.
- Experience or knowledge of working within athletics facilities and operations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with campus constituents.
- Evidence of ability to successfully work with diverse student populations.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and working with diverse student populations.
- Successful interview.
- Successful teaching demonstration.
- Successful completion of three background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters Degree.
