The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology-Oncology is recruiting two (2) Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants. These positions will be under general supervision from a designated administrator and assist in providing comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care to patients in the area of malignant hematology with a primary focus in bone marrow transplant.
Essential Functions
- Conduct comprehensive or episodic health history and physical assessment of patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
- Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
- Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
- Maintain accurate medical records.
- Collaborate with other providers and members of the health care team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.
- Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice.
- Participate in research and development projects.
- Participate in education of nurse practitioners, nurse practitioner students and medical students.

Minimum Requirements
Nurse Practitioner
Required Education
Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program.
Required Trainings/Certifications
Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority.
Active Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty.
Required Experience
Three (3) years nursing experience.

Physician Assistant
Required Education
Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Required Trainings/Certification
Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority.
Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Additional Qualifications Considered
2-3 years of experience working and treating patients with Hematology-Oncology related health issues.
