Nurse Practitioner Subject Matter Experts and Course Mentors-Communications
The W. Cary Edwards School of Nursing and Health Professions at Thomas Edison State University invite applicants for Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Course Mentors (or course facilitators) in the Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner tracks. Course Mentors and SMEs are expected to possess in-depth knowledge and expertise in the NP discipline, enabling them to meet the challenges of adult and distance education pedagogies and foster self-directed learning. The W. Cary Edwards School of Nursing and Health Professions seeks professionals who are committed to program quality, academic integrity, student success, and diversity. As independent contractors, Mentors and SMEs at Thomas Edison State University are responsible for delivering support and guidance to our students.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A terminal degree such as a Ph.D, Ed.D, or D.N.P. or progress toward a terminal degree
- Licensed NP with prescriptive authority in any U.S. state
- Five years of NP practice experience
- One year of experience teaching in academia
- National certification as a psychiatric-mental health, family, adult, adult-gerontology primary care or pediatric nurse practitioner
- Maintains current practice as a nurse practitioner
- Demonstrated commitment to participating in an inclusive, equitable and diverse campus community
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the use of learning management systems/Web-based educational tools
- Experience with course development
