General Description

This position assists in maintaining compliance of the Nursing Program with the general policies of Oklahoma City Community College; provides support to the Nursing Program Director; maintains cooperative relations internally within the Division of Health Professions and the College and externally with hospital administrations, official agencies, and community groups; generates acceptance letters; assesses, develops, plans, and implements improvements. Orients/observes/develops/evaluates faculty and adjuncts; addresses student/faculty issues; develops standardized processes; oversees tracking and trending of transfer/exiting students; maintains records; is involved in Next Gen NCLEX development; and provides support to the Nursing Program Director through data collection and information gathering to ensure requirements are met for ongoing approval and accreditation through the College, Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, Higher Learning Commission, Oklahoma Board of Nursing, and Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.

This position is a Safety Sensitive position and subject to mandatory pre-employment drug testing and subject to annual TB testing or monitoring as needed.

Minimum Education/Experience

Master's Degree in Nursing

Minimum (5) years' full-time work experience as a practitioner of nursing including at least three (3) years' full-time teaching experience

Holds an active unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma or be eligible to obtain licensure in Oklahoma.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work is light work which requires the person in this position to occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement)

• Supports the Nursing Program Director (NPD) in the day-to-day leadership and administration of the Nursing Program, including strategic planning and program operations.
• Assists the NPD with faculty supervision, mentoring, onboarding, and evaluation for full-time and adjunct faculty, including classroom observations and feedback for instructional improvement.
• Co-coordinates faculty orientation and professional development activities, including review of professional development plans and training related to instructional technology, teaching strategies, and program policies.
• Provides oversight of faculty compliance and records, ensuring currency of required documentation such as RN licensure, CPR certification, background checks, health records, curriculum vitae, and NESA exam requirements.
• Supports curriculum implementation and instructional quality, including assisting with course syllabi review, instructional design support, and updates to faculty and student handbooks.
• Assists with implementation of the Systematic Program Evaluation Plan, including collecting and analyzing data to support program improvement and accreditation requirements.
• Supports accreditation and regulatory reporting, including preparation of reports for external agencies such as the Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN) and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
• Coordinates the administration and evaluation of standardized testing and other program assessments used to monitor student progress and program effectiveness.
• Oversees processes related to student progression, including degree checks, remediation planning, and academic support initiatives.
• Assists with student advisement, including working with prospective students, current students, and participating in exit interviews and program information sessions.
• Supports clinical education operations, including co-coordination of clinical sites, oversight of clinical portal systems, and compliance with clinical partner requirements.
• Serves as a liaison with clinical partners, community stakeholders, and internal college departments such as advising, admissions, and student services to support student success.
• Participates in program governance and committee work, including chairing a designated Nursing Faculty Organization committee and serving on programmatic or institutional committees as assigned.
• Participates in professional and organizational meetings, including NESA and Oklahoma Associate Degree Directors meetings, and represents the program at local, state, regional, or national meetings as coordinated by the NPD.
• Assists with program administrative functions, including coordinating surveys, managing program data, supporting vendor processes, monitoring program website accuracy, coordinating committees, and assisting with textbook procurement.
• Provides input into program budgeting and grant planning, including assisting with identifying program needs and supporting grant documentation.
• Other duties as assigned by the Program Director or Dean.
