Occupational Safety & Health Specialist 1

- Assist in key functions within WSU's Occupational Health Services and Environmental Services groups.
- Help collect, review, and analyze data related to occupational health and environmental safety.

Additional Information: This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $4,119 to $5,531 | Range 46 (Steps A - M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university involving major study in occupational safety and health, industrial hygiene, or closely related field; OR, four (4) years of technician, or para-professional paid experience in one or more of the following industries: government, military, public heath or related safety and health field.
- Must have, or be able to obtain by the time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements under SPPM 7 and departmental driving standards to fulfill job responsibilities (dependent upon actual job responsibilities).
- Ability to obtain the following WSDA Public Health certifications within six (6) months of hire: Ornamental Insect and Disease Control, PCO General, and Public Health Control.
- Must have ability to wear a full-face air purifying respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus.
