The Department of Ophthalmology is an expansive department that spans all sub-specialties in ophthalmology. It is affliated with the Cincinnati Eye Institute, one of the largest eye care practices in the country. The department is seeking an academic Assistant/Associate/Professor of Ophthalmology as an Oculoplastic surgeon for a part-time, non-tenure track position. The oculoplastics service is an active faculty group performing cases ranging from simple cosmetic and functional procedures to complex orbital and reconstructive surgery. Since resident education is a prominent feature in the oculoplastics service, enthusiasm for teaching is preferred for this position. The successful applicant will be provided with a competitive salary and benefits, and the final faculty rank/title will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.

Essential Functions

Perform clinical duties in Ophthalmology and Oculoplastics. The candidate will be expected to:

  • Participate in the operating room and outpatient clinic.
  • Advise and train fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to an academic career through research, teaching, and supporting the department's academic mission.
  • Attend departmental and divisional meetings as relevant, to include participation in grand rounds and educational conferences.

Minimum Requirements

  • MD/DO or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited residency in Ophthalmology
  • Completion of Oculoplastic Fellowship
  • Board eligible or Board certified in Ophthalmology
  • Licensure by the Ohio Medical Board is required at the time of appointment
