About the Position:
The Lewis & Clark speech/debate team is a large, nationally competitive team competing in speech events, British Parliamentary debate and Lincoln-Douglas debate.
Essential Functions:
- Offer availability for coaching sessions (in person or virtual) as requested by the Director of Speech/Debate
- Meet with students and provide constructive feedback designed to aid them in competition
- Perform editorial duties on student scripts and arguments
- Dependent on location, accompany speech/debate team members at tournaments
- Judge at in person and virtual tournaments
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Minimum 3-4 years of speech/debate competitive experience
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to adjudicate speech and debate competitions in a fair and educational manner
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 1-2 years of speech/debate coaching experience
Work Schedule
- Hours/days vary: Occasional weekends
- Benefit Eligible: No
Pay Rate:
- $25.00/hr
