The Department of Psychiatry is seeking an open rank, tenure-track researcher to advance our mission of scientific discovery in Psychiatric disorders and neuroscience. The Department of Psychiatry provides an outstanding environment for groundbreaking basic, translational, and clinical research, clinical care, career development, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

We are seeking a researcher with strong skills in circuit mechanisms that affect and inform how the brain synthesizes auditory information to extract complex sound features, such as language and how they affect psychiatric disorders. This individual should have a strong track-record of successful mentorship and external funding. The applicant is expected to be a skilled, independent researcher with excellent experience in designing and executing research studies, mentoring graduate students and other trainees, and research paper and grant writing. Experience in processing and analyzing neuronal data is a necessity.

The successful applicant will have a demonstrated track record of outstanding accomplishment commensurate with their level of seniority and great potential to improve the lives of women and girls through the work of the institute. The faculty member hired will be expected to lead externally funded research projects within the Neuroscience Center focused on ultimately understanding the complex human brain circuits that enable verbal communication, and how they fail in psychiatric disorders. This will be accomplished through the development of community partnerships, designing and executing research studies, performing data analysis, writing manuscripts, and publishing results. The faculty member hired will also be expected to engage collaboratively with other researchers and clinicians in the Department of Psychiatry and support the educational mission by training graduate students, interns, and fellows.
