Position Description
The Department of Radiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking an Abdominal Imaging Radiologist to join the Abdominal Imaging Division. This position supports the department’s clinical, educational, and academic missions within a high volume academic medical center.
The Abdominal Imaging Division provides diagnostic imaging services across the UNC Hospitals system, including a Level I Trauma Center, Women’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital, Neurosciences Hospital, and the NCI designated Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center. Faculty collaborate closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams to support comprehensive patient care.
Position Responsibilities
- Interpret a full range of abdominal imaging studies, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, radiographs, and fluoroscopy
- Participate in teaching and mentoring diagnostic radiology residents, fellows, and medical students
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams through conferences, consultations, and protocol development
- Participate in departmental, divisional, and institutional quality improvement initiatives
- Engage in scholarly or research activities consistent with departmental needs
Appointment Details
This is an open rank, fixed term faculty appointment at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
MD or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Board certified or board eligible Radiologist
- Fellowship training in Abdominal Imaging or equivalent clinical experience
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary clinical teams
- Interest or experience in resident and fellow education in an academic medical setting
