Open Rank- Clinical Faculty in Pediatric Nephrology
Job Summary
The Department of Pediatrics, Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia is seeking a board eligible/board certified faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor, as a Pediatric Nephrologist. This position supports the education mission by providing education and training to fellows, residents, medical students, and healthcare professionals in pediatric nephrology, including clinical supervision, consultation, and didactics. It also provides clinical services at Wellstar's Children's Hospital of Georgia and associated outpatient clinics, including satellite clinics and telehealth. This position is not on a tenure track.
Responsibilities
Patient Care - 90%: Provide clinical care for the pediatric nephrology patient population in outpatient and inpatient settings, including satellite locations. This includes diagnosis and treatment of disorders, consultations, acute care, ordering and interpreting lab results, developing treatment plans, and patient/family education. Maintain patient records and share weekday, weekend, and holiday call coverage.
Teaching/Instruction - 10%: Provide mentorship, clinical supervision, and consultation to residents, medical students, and staff at Augusta University and Wellstar Children's Hospital of Georgia. Develop educational experiences in pediatric nephrology through didactics.
Required Qualifications
Medical degree (MD, DO or equivalent) from an accredited institution, Board Certified in Pediatrics, and Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Nephrology. Must have or be eligible for a State of Georgia medical license, federal DEA, and PALS certification.
For Assistant Professor: Early career faculty with appropriate postgraduate training.
For Associate Professor: Mid-level career with at least five years at Assistant Professor rank or comparable experience.
For Professor: Senior-level career with at least five years at Associate Professor rank or comparable experience.
General requirements include consistency with SACSCOC standards, evidence of teaching ability, scholarly activity, and successful experience.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
This is a full-time, fiscal year position with a 1.0 FTE. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, subject to availability of funds. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, retirement plans, tuition waiver, and wellness options.
