Open Rank Faculty in Department of Physiology--TRIBA Initiative
Job Summary
The Department of Physiology at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions as part of the Transdisciplinary Research Initiative in Inflammaging and Brain Aging (TRIBA). We seek individuals with a record of outstanding research accomplishments in cerebral vascular aging and cognitive impairment, proven ability to secure extramural funding, and demonstrated leadership. The successful candidate will join a department focusing on cellular signaling, neural regulation, and hormonal control in models of cardiovascular, endocrine, and renal disease.

Responsibilities
- Establish vigorous independent research programs that are extramurally funded, complementing department and university goals. TRIBA hires must collaborate on joint grants and include other AU investigators.
- Teach in the School of Medicine and/or The Graduate School, mentor students, and participate in educational events like journal clubs and seminars. TRIBA hires should collaborate with other recruits.
- Provide national, local, and institutional service.
Required Qualifications
All faculty must be Board Eligible or Board Certified with an MD, PhD, or equivalent degree. Minimum qualifications vary by rank: Assistant Professor (early career with post-graduate training), Associate Professor (mid-career with at least five years as Assistant Professor), Professor (senior career with at least five years as Associate Professor). Tenure eligibility requires appointment as Associate or Full Professor with prior tenure and national reputation.
General requirements include evidence of teaching ability, scholarly activity, and desirable personal qualities.
Preferred Qualifications
An established national and international reputation, sustained external funding, exceptional publications, commitment to multidisciplinary collaborations, and unique technology expertise.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
This is a full-time, fiscal year position. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, subject to funding availability. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, retirement plans, tuition waiver, and wellness options.
