Job Summary

Position Description

The School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) seeks to fill multiple open-rank (Full, Associate, or Assistant Professor) tenured/tenure-track faculty positions in the Department of Biological Sciences. We seek to recruit scientists conducting research in the fields of artificial intelligence-guided computational and systems biology. The Department seeks candidates who address broad and significant questions in biological and biomedical research, especially those using novel interdisciplinary and computational approaches. We welcome applicants whose research includes computational (dry lab) approaches, or integrated approaches that combine computational and experimental (wet lab) components. We are looking for individuals to lead outstanding research and teaching programs that complement the existing departmental research and teaching strengths and collaborate with other departments within the school and/or across the University. The Department of Biological Sciences has a vibrant community of researchers and educators that places high value on the effective training of graduate and undergraduate students. An ideal candidate is a consummate researcher, mentor, and educator dedicated to the success of all students and trainees in classrooms and laboratories. The appointment commences for the fall 2026 semester.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience: A PhD or equivalent in biology, biochemistry, computational biology, or a related discipline is required prior to employment. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able to produce research and scholarly or creative achievements that enhance the program and the discipline, and able to deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences.

Preferred Education and Experience: Postdoctoral research experience in a relevant field and potential to secure extramural funding is strongly preferred. Teaching experience and/or experience in mentorship of junior scientists is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

An earned graduate degree appropriate to the academic discipline and a record of productivity and professional achievement.

Preferred Education and Experience
