The Department of Psychology in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS) at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) is accepting applications for a tenure system faculty position in lifespan cognitive neuroscience to expand the department's strength in the cognitive neuroscience of development and aging. The successful candidate will have research interests that are compatible with and add to existing expertise within the Center for Vital Longevity. Candidates at any level who have funded or fundable research programs will be considered. Teaching responsibilities will contribute to the department's undergraduate programs in psychology, the MS degrees in psychology and applied cognition and neuroscience, and the cognition and neuroscience PhD program. Teaching responsibilities also include mentoring of doctoral, master's, and undergraduate students.
The appointment commences for the fall 2026 semester.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: A PhD or equivalent in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, or a related discipline is required prior to appointment. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment that comprises individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able to produce research and scholarly achievements that enhance their discipline, and who are able to provide high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences. Candidates are expected to demonstrate clear potential for (at the Assistant Professor rank), or an existing track record of, obtaining and maintaining extramural research funding.
