Open Rank (Professor, Associate or Assistant) AI, Sensors, and Human Movement
About the Opportunity
We are seeking highly motivated individuals for an open-rank tenure track or tenured faculty position. Candidates should have an active research program at the intersection of artificial intelligence, sensors, wearable devices, and human movement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience conducting interdisciplinary research with healthy or clinical populations that applies AI models to predict relevant health outcomes from wearable sensors. Applicants who focus on early warning and detection systems, models combining wearables and electronic health records for clinical decision support, or human-centered AI applications will be given priority. Candidates working in AI without a human movement, rehabilitation, or health focus will not be considered.
The primary appointment will be within the Department of Physical Therapy, Movement, and Rehabilitation Sciences in Bouve with a secondary appointment in another college that is in line with the candidate's research expertise.

The ADVANCE Office of Faculty Development office works in conjunction with the Office of Research Development (ORD), the Center for Advancing Teaching and Learning Through Research (CATLR), and University Decision Support (UDS) to provide programs and trainings to further develop and support a thriving faculty.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting an independent and externally funded research program, and participating in departmental, college, and university service. Qualified candidates must be prepared to work with global student populations.
Qualifications
- PhD in kinesiology, movement/rehabilitation science, engineering, human computer interaction, human factors, or related field is required.
- Established line of inquiry including AI and sensors/wearable devices.
- Demonstrated experience writing and submitting grants commensurate with candidate's rank.
- Interdisciplinary, team research that engaged individuals from other discipline but is focused on health outcomes.
- To be considered at the Associate level or higher at least 5 years of academic or equivalent experience and evidence of funding is required.

Please summarize your past instructional and mentorship experiences, your pedagogical philosophy, your plans/goals for teaching in the Bouve College of Health Sciences (including existing and proposed courses), and your strategies for teaching and mentoring global student populations.
