Job Summary

Position Description

The Jindal School of Management (JSOM) at The University of Texas at Dallas invites applications for an open rank non-tenure track faculty position (Professor of Instruction or Practice) in the Area of Organization, Strategy and International Management. The successful candidate will also serve as Assistant Director of the Africa Initiative. The Assistant Director will help Spearhead grant writing efforts, cultivate strategic partnerships with African universities, and host visiting university and government officials to promote global education and commerce.

The selected candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, with particular emphasis on Study Abroad programs and curricula focused on conducting business in Africa. Additionally, the candidate will play an active role in cultivating networks within the African diaspora community in the Dallas–Fort Worth area to advance the Africa Initiative. The candidate will also engage corporate leaders from the DFW region by organizing and hosting webinars and seminars at JSOM.

This unique role features a 50/50 split between academic instruction and administrative leadership within JSOM.

The appointment commences May 1, 2026, in preparation for the fall semester.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience: A PhD or equivalent in business management in a related discipline is or a relevant master's degree combined with significant industry and/or teaching experience. Applicants for Associate or full Professor appointments should have experience commensurate with those ranks. Candidates are expected to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. We are seeking candidates able deliver high quality teaching using evidence-based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences.

The Organization, Strategy, International Management area

The Africa Initiative is a new development in the Organization, Strategy, International Management (OSIM) area. In OSIM multidisciplinary groups of management educators and scholars engage in a cutting-edge research and education activities. The OSIM area provides undergraduate and graduate students with a solid foundation in various areas of study, ranging from entrepreneurship to human resources, international management to healthcare, OSIM prepares students to take on the challenges of tomorrow.

Minimum Qualifications

An earned graduate degree appropriate to the academic discipline and a record of productivity and professional achievement.

Preferred Education and Experience

Minimum Experience:
A Masters degree with at least five years of teaching/industry experience.

Preferred Experience:
Business Management, African Studies, Communication & Negotiation, Entrepreneurship & Economic Development Initiatives, and Fund Raising for Advancing African Entrepreneurship and Education.
