We are inviting applications for a full-time Operations Administrator at the brand-new Bennett School of Public Policy (BSPP), within the Faculty of Human, Social and Political Science at the University of Cambridge.
This key role will begin in July 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter, and will support the efficient daily running of the School. Working closely with the Professional Services Team and Senior Management Team, the postholder will provide comprehensive administrative, and organisational support to enable the smooth delivery of the School's academic, strategic, and operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Play a key role in supporting the effective and efficient day-to-day operations of the Bennett School of Public Policy, providing comprehensive administrative and organisational support to both the Professional Services Team and the Senior Management Team.
- Organise and support meetings and committees, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and tracking actions.
- Coordinate events, seminars, and workshops, including venue booking, catering, logistics, and attendee communication.
- Prepare and distribute event materials, and support the development of newsletters, seminar, and conference programmes.
- Maintain and update data for expenditure tracking, attendance monitoring, and event reporting.
- Act as a first point of contact for departmental enquiries, providing clear and accurate information to staff, students, and external partners.
- Support HR and course administration, including recruitment coordination, onboarding, and responding to student and staff enquiries.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a good general level of education (HND/HNC, Level 4/5 qualification, or equivalent experience).
- Is confident using standard software packages (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Is highly organised, accurate, and able to prioritise effectively.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong written English.
- Can solve problems independently and handle enquiries professionally.
- Has previous administrative experience, including digital file management, diary management, and responding to enquiries.
This role is worked Monday-Friday in line with departmental operational requirements.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 24 months in the first instance.
