Operations Manager

The University of Oxford is seeking an exceptional Operations Manager to join the Acute Multidisciplinary Imaging and Interventional Centre (AMIIC), a pioneering facility at the forefront of clinical innovation, medical imaging, artificial intelligence, and interventional medicine.

AMIIC is home to the UK's first and only photon-counting CT scanner integrated with a state-of-the-art interventional suite, supporting world-leading research alongside vital clinical services delivered in partnership with Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Centre also hosts advanced AI and big-data infrastructure and an internationally recognised imaging core laboratory.

This is a rare opportunity to play a key leadership role in a unique multidisciplinary environment that is shaping the future of healthcare and medical research.

About the Role

Reporting directly to Professor Charalambos Antoniades, Director of AMIIC, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Centre and help drive its strategic development. Working closely with clinical, research, technical and administrative teams, you will ensure the smooth and efficient running of a complex and dynamic facility.

As Operations Manager, your responsibilities will include managing budgets, forecasting, financial monitoring, and income generation activities, and coordinating research programmes, governance processes, and committee activities. You will also support recruitment, staff management and workforce planning, alongside managing communications and stakeholder engagement.

About you

The successful Operations Manager candidate must have proven experience with coordinating complex projects and large-scale activities, alongside strong financial management and budget monitoring skills. Excellent organisational and administrative abilities, in addition to experience managing staff and multidisciplinary teams are also essential. Experience working within a university, research or healthcare environment, and knowledge of NHS and higher education administration would be advantageous.

This is a full-time appointment on an open-ended contract based at the Acute Multidisciplinary Imaging and Interventional Centre (AMIIC), John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, OX3 9DU.
