OPS-Fishing for Success Assistant
Job Description
Assist with planning and conducting youth education programs on fish biology, aquatic invertebrates, aquatic plants, water chemistry, and fisheries conservation.
Support and participate in off-site outreach events, including career fairs, STEM events, 4-H activities, and community engagement programs.
Assist with weekend Family Fishing Days and other special events as scheduled. Identify, measure, and weigh fish samples. Enter, proof, and manage sample data.
Assist with maintaining program ponds, including routine monitoring and general upkeep.
Assist with maintenance and organization of equipment and supplies.
Contribute to the development of new educational materials for youth and teachers.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma; must pass level 2 background screening; Requires a health assessment.
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in fisheries, aquatic sciences, natural resources, or environmental education. Experience working with youth or in informal education settings. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
