Classification Minimum Requirements:
- A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required.
- Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements are required.
- Must have a clean and satisfactory driving record.
- Must demonstrate a strong commitment to student safety and responsible driving.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and professional.
- Must be willing and available to work a variable schedule, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Level 2 DCF Background check required.
Job Description:
School Bus Driver, transporting K-12 students on field trips and to athletic events. Out of town travel as well as evening and occasional overnight trips required.
Section 234.091 - General Qualifications - Each school bus driver shall be of good moral character, of good vision and hearing, able-bodied, free from communicable disease, mentally alert, and sufficiently strong physically to handle the bus with ease and to make emergency repairs, and s/he shall possess such other qualifications as are prescribed by the State Board, and s/he shall hold a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement.
Prior to transporting students on a school bus, each driver shall meet the following requirements:
- Hold a Florida Commercial Drivers' License and Endorsements as appropriate and required by law.
- Demonstrate the ability to prepare required written reports.
- Be physically capable of operating the vehicle as determined by an annual physical examination.
- Demonstrate physical and mental capabilities required to carry out all assigned responsibilities as a school bus driver.
The bus driver's license shall be either posted in a conspicuous place inside the bus or be carried on the driver's person while the bus is in operation.
Expected Salary:
$25-30/hour based on experience
Required Qualifications:

Preferred:
Previous experience transporting students or driving a school bus is preferred.
