Adjunct Faculty

Position Summary: The Psychology Program is seeking applicants to fill adjunct teaching positions for:

• on-campus courses in lifespan development
• an online course in cognitive psychology.

Courses will begin on August 19, 2024.

Responsibilities:

• Selected candidates will be able to effectively deliver course content and assess student learning.
• Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills, including, but not limited to,
• developing and presenting effective lessons,
• facilitating group discussion,
• creating appropriate assignments and activities,
• responding to student inquiries,
• and grading and providing feedback in a prompt manner.

Qualifications: Applicants must possess a minimum of a master’s degree in psychology or a related field. College teaching experience and the ability to provide evidence of such experience is highly preferred.

Positions Available:

1. Lifespan Development (2 sections are available; in-seat)

• The course covers physical, cognitive-intellectual, and social-personality development from infancy through old age.
• Must be able to teach on campus one evening a week or during the day (based on availability)

1. Cognitive Psychology (1 section is available; online)

• The course covers human cognition, including such topics as attention, perception, pattern recognition, memory, language, problem solving, creativity, and decision making.
• Must be available to teach an online course.
