Position Announcement

The Student Resource Center (SRC) Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting all SRC programming and services. This position is responsible for addressing student basic needs and developing initiatives aimed at enhancing student success, retention, and persistence to graduation. This position offers structured support, transitional programming, and resources to assigned students through individual and group meetings. These interactions assist students in accessing necessary resources and developing essential college success skills. The coordinator implements a comprehensive support and accountability model aimed at promoting student retention and success. Additionally, the coordinator creates innovative programs and initiatives focused on recruitment, student success, retention, and graduation persistence for assigned student populations. The role involves close collaboration with other Student Affairs offices and various campus departments to establish enriching academic and co-curricular programs. Performs related administrative functions.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for all students through personalized conversations, understanding their needs, and coordinating wraparound support services from various on-campus and off-campus offices. Assist with difficult conversations and empower students to thrive in their academic journeys.
  • Continuously assess student needs through individual and group meetings and university data to coordinate support services for at-risk students or those with basic needs challenges. Promote social and economic mobility through programs focused on networking with professionals and building confidence.
  • Provide educational opportunities that emphasize the interconnectedness and identity of all individuals and communities. Foster student learning and development by serving as a coach, mentor, student advocate, and educator. Provide social and transitional programming and connect students to various resources across campus to help ease their transition to university life.
  • Facilitate concierge student support acting as liaison between assigned students and other campus departments to resolve student issues.
  • Coordinate basic needs student support, including managing resources such as the food pantry and similar services.
  • Use Navigate to track student interactions, connect with students, schedule appointments and support student connection and success. Perform program assessment and evaluation.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, implementation, and assessment of retention programs, workshops, and events that enhance student engagement, persistence, and retention initiatives.
  • Provide direct support, guidance, and advisement to assigned student populations such as first generation and non-traditional students and all student populations. Serve as a club/organization mentor, ensuring involvement within Interclub Council, mentoring student officers in leadership development, and leading in the development and implementation of student programming.
  • Assist with the coordination of co-curricular programs. Assist in the development of media and marketing materials to promote services and events.
  • Supervise department work-study positions, as needed.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least two years of successful relevant experience working with students.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to, respect for, and understanding of the academic, personal, and social needs of all students required.
  • Proven experience in program development using high-impact practices designed to enhance student success and retention.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring in an academic setting, community organizing, and other leadership roles required.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects concurrently; demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Google suite and social media technologies required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Ability to travel to various events and activities, as well as work some evenings and weekends based on the associated activity schedule.

Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Part-time hourly staff (overtime-eligible) position, working a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 25 hours per week Monday - Friday during the academic year, with reduced hours during the summer months (May - July). Hourly rate of $20.00+, depending on qualifications and experience.
