Position Summary

In the role of Associate Program Director for the Pain Medicine Fellowship at the University at Buffalo, you will support the Program Director in overseeing the fellowship training program, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, and providing mentorship and guidance to fellows. You will assist with the development and delivery of the curriculum, monitor clinical and educational experiences, participate in fellow evaluation processes, and support their academic and professional growth. Working closely with the Program Director, faculty, hospital partners, and the GME office, you will help maintain a high-quality training environment aligned with institutional goals and ACGME requirements. You will also contribute to recruitment and onboarding, coordinate educational programming, and support ongoing program administration while helping prepare fellows for board certification and future leadership roles in pain medicine.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Must be a licensed qualified physician who has successfully completed an anesthesiology program approved by the American Board of Anesthesiology and currently licensed to practice medicine in New York State.
  2. Must be certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, or Psychiatry and Neurology.
  3. Must be appointed by the Department Chairman/Program Director
  4. Must hold a faculty appointment and appropriate clinical appointment in good standing, including active medical staff privileges, at the University at Buffalo and an affiliated participating site.
  5. Must demonstrate ongoing academic achievement appropriate to the subspecialty, including scholarly publications, educational program development, or research activity

Salary Range

$20,000 - $45,000
