Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:

The Office of University Counsel represents the University, providing legal advice and counsel to the Board of Trustees, the Chancellor, the administration, faculty, and staff on legal matters.

Position Summary:

The Paralegal will assist the Office of University Counsel attorneys with a wide variety of legal projects including drafting and negotiating contracts, coordinating with various offices on campus, providing support on complex negotiations, and assisting with compliance matters.

Among the duties: drafting contracts, negotiating terms, coordinating the contracts review process, researching contractual issues, and maintaining information databases.

Required skills include strong analytical abilities, excellent research and writing skills, good judgment, initiative, and the ability to juggle multiple projects.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Completion of an accredited paralegal program or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Required Qualifications: Notary Public appointment or obtain within one year of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications: Undergraduate degree from a 4-year institution; two or more years of paralegal experience, preferably in the public sector.
