Paramedic
The Cardiac Procedures Unit is currently seeking a full-time Paramedic (Sheath Puller) to join its established team. This position is located in the Cardiovascular Center.
Duties include but are not limited to: direct patient care including monitoring and removal of various and arterial sheaths, transporting patients, vital signs, assisting patients in and out of bed, and answering call lights. Other duties include EKG's, Accuchecks, cleaning equipment, stocking of supplies, performing daily QA on testing equipment and emergency equipment.
High school graduation or an equivalent combination or education and experience.
2 years recent (within one year) experience as a Paramedic.
Current licensure as a Paramedic (A-EMT) by the State of Michigan.
Current Basic Life Support Provider verification.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider (ACLS).
This classification requires Primary Source Verification.
Certification as an EMT, CNA or MA preferred.
1-2 years of recent experience as a Nurse Aide/ICU Tech in a hospital setting.
Vocational training in Health Care of College level courses in Health Care.
Understands and demonstrates the core concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care (PFCC), including: Respect and Dignity, Information Sharing, Participation, and Collaboration.
40 hours (4 10hr shifts), full-time. Monday through Friday. Day/evening shift hours; 6a-430p

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
