About SUNY Broome Community College:
SUNY Broome Community College is a comprehensive community college located in the scenic Southern Tier of New York. The College has over 7,700 students annually, and services over 6,100 students per semester in Liberal Arts, Business & Professional Studies, Health Sciences, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs. An additional 1,600 students are served through the College's workforce and non-credit programs.
Job Description:
SUNY Broome Community College is seeking qualified candidates for part-time adjunct instructors to teach in-person composition classes during the day in the English Department for Fall 2025.
Applications for Adjunct Instructor positions are accepted on a continuous basis. Candidates are contacted and hired as opportunities arise, depending on the college's needs.
Requirements:
- A Master's degree in English, rhetoric, composition, or in a closely related field is required.
- Teaching experience is required, preferably at the community college level.
- Experience with Brightspace preferred.
- Applicants should be comfortable in the learner-centered classroom and have a strong commitment to the community college mission.
Candidates should have experience teaching first-year composition courses at the college level and be familiar with current writing theory and practice. They should have a demonstrated interest and ability in the use of alternative and innovative teaching methods and familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom.
