Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited term faculty positions in the Department of Geography and Anthropology for the academic year 2025-2026. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in Land Surveying. These courses are most often at an introductory level and include Surveying I, and Surveying I Lab.
- Assignments to faculty in the pool are based on departmental needs and are for one or two courses per semester. Applicants may be asked to teach in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online) and courses may be assigned at the Kennesaw or Marietta campus.
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
For Part-Time Faculty
- A Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying or a closely related field, Professional Land Surveyor Licensure in the state of Georgia (or neighboring state), and five or more years of experience is required at the time of hire.
OR
- A Master's or terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Geospatial Systems Engineering, Geographic Information Sciences, or a closely related field is required at the time of hire.
OR
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
For Limited Term Faculty
- A Master's or terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Geospatial Systems Engineering, Geographic Information Sciences, or a closely related field is required at the time of hire.
OR
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Land Surveying Certification
- Record of past teaching at the undergraduate level
- Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
- Experience with ESRI GIS and other Land Surveying-based software products
- Experience with AutoCAD
