Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

As the most extensive collegiate dance program in Georgia, the KSU Department of Dance is distinguished by its blend of rigorous and holistic classes, professional-level training, and wide-ranging performance opportunities that foster artists/scholars. Advantageously located in metro Atlanta and accredited by The National Association of Schools of Dance, our well-rounded and affordable program emphasizes artistic excellence, creative research, and scholarly achievement. We present innovative performance seasons that feature student and professional companies who perform in state-of-the-art facilities designed exclusively for dance. Students work closely with our accomplished faculty and are provided with many opportunities to work with guest artists from regional, national, and international settings. Students from our program pursue successful careers in a range of professional settings in dance and the performing arts.

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited term faculty positions in the Department of Dance for the academic year 2025-2026. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate courses in the lower division, including but not limited to, Dance and Society.
  • Teaching in various modalities (face-to-face, hybrid, and online)

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Dance or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
  • OR Professional teaching experience, along with at least seven years of professional experience in the field at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years collegiate and/or professional teaching experience
  • Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
