Part-time and Limited Term Faculty Positions in the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education (Science Education)
Job Summary
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time and limited term faculty positions in the Department of Elementary & Early Childhood Education for the academic year 2025-2026. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
- Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the science content for teachers or science methods for elementary teachers
- Collaborating with program and science education faculty
- Gathering and scoring necessary assessment data for accreditation purposes
- Participating in faculty meetings, program meetings and science education meetings
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
To teach undergraduate courses:
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Science (Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, Geology for ISCI 2001 or Physics and/or Chemistry for ISCI 2002) or a closely related discipline
- OR
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Science Education with 18 graduate credit hours in science content (Biology, Environment Science, Ecology, Geology, Ecology, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field) or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
- OR
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the science content (Biology, Environment Science, Ecology, Geology, Ecology, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field) is required at the time of hire.
To teach graduate courses:
- A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Science Education with 18 graduate credit hours in science content (Biology, Environment Science, Ecology, Geology, Ecology, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field) or a related discipline is required at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a K-5 teacher.
- Experience coaching or teaching preservice or inservice teachers
- Experience teaching on-line or hybrid courses
- Record of past teaching undergraduate courses
