Description:
Reporting to the Vice Dean for Administrative and User Services, the Part-Time Clerk Supervisor provides friendly, high quality customer service to Library patrons and assists with Circulation/Reserve/Periodical transactions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assists with check-out/check-in of library materials.
- Coordinates the collection and recording of fees for lost books and fines.
- Provides basic information and directional assistance to library users, both in person and via telephone.
- Answers telephone and directs callers accordingly.
- Monitors security and facilities in the building on nights/weekends and reports problems to Public Safety.
- Supervises student aides.
- Records departmental statistics.
- May perform other duties not specifically identified above but which require the same degree of skill, and which are normally included within the above job title.
Hours: Monday: 5pm – 11pm Thursday: 5pm – 11pm Saturday: 9am – 5pm Sunday: 10am – 6pm
Subject to bumping.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to exercise initiative and judgment, and work independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of general library operations preferred.
