Part-time Faculty - ESOL
Job Description
The Montgomery College, Rockville Campus is currently accepting applications for possible openings as a part-time faculty member teaching in-person ESOL to Adult Learners in an educational setting located within a Maximum-Security Correctional Facility. This particular teaching opportunity is part-time (3 evenings per week for a total of 9 hours), and is located at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Boyds, MD.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Planning, developing, and providing instruction in adult ESOL courses.
- Completing detailed, daily reports including tracking attendance and student completion of the course objectives.
- Abiding by all Montgomery College policies and procedures.
- Abiding by all policies and procedures set by the Montgomery County Department of Corrections.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in TESOL, Education or related educational field.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching ESOL.
- Successful candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to promoting belonging, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational and work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in TESOL or Education with coursework in ESOL Methodology and/or Second Language Acquisition.
- Experience working with diverse and at-risk populations, preferably within a correctional or similar institutional setting.
