Part-time Faculty, Honors
Teach courses and seminars in the Honors Program. Course assignments vary each semester. Some seminars are taught at off-campus locations. Dates/times vary and may include weekends.
The Honors Program at Youngstown State University, which began in 1977, creates a community of intellectual excellence with students of all majors able to participate. More than 470 YSU students are members of the Honors Program and engage in coursework, volunteerism, leadership, and involvement in student organizations. A residential option is also available for students seeking a robust living-learning honors community. Whether the student commutes or resides on campus, an abundance of opportunities exists to connect students to other honors students, faculty, staff, and alumni. When exceptional students are brought together from various disciplines and challenged with extraordinary courses and learning experiences outside the classroom, the overall collegiate experience is enhanced. Honors students may further benefit by securing national scholarships; gaining acceptance into graduate programs, receiving assistantships, and landing their dream job. The completion of the program requirements results in recognition at graduation, on the Honors Diploma and a special notation on the student's transcript.
Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students promptly. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university-provided tools and resources.
